"We walk by faith, not by sight"
(1 Corinthians 5:17)
It was January 28, 2014, at a local Christian Business Chamber meeting in Nashville, TN, listening to a great speaker, Jon Acuff, speaking on using the social media as platform for your message of passion and vision. It all clicked for me even more that the vision God had given me for Living Single in Faith, LLC was absolutely necessary, one of a kind, and important not only to me, but to all who embodied this vision with me and the ones who will be exposed to it in the future.
Today, through this blog, I am declaring and releasing to the global market the voice of the individual who is "single and in faith", not only "with faith", but "in faith". We are believing that because of our faith we are able to discover our God-given purpose for being here. While being single, at this time, we are free of so many other things that will try and rob us of that freedom. By living in faith, we discover even more of who we are and what we were made to do in this life.
You see, living single in faith is not a status, but a lifestyle. A lifestyle many of us go on living for a long time and learn to embrace it well and not so well.
For so long we have been ignored, sometimes not purposely, or overlooked because of being single. Fact, being single is not some curse, or the most horrible thing that can happen to us in the world. No, many of us are not misfits because we are "not yet married", or confused about our sexual orientation because we are "not yet married", or have some type of man issue or women issue because we are "not yet married", or selfish or trying to make a statement because we are "not yet married" and in a love relationship. We are single, because at this time, this is the season we are in and we have to embrace that and live life as it was purposed for us. And, it's okay!
I know many will ridicule or say terrible things about this blog and even say why is she doing this, we know when one is single. Reason, I believe its worth saying when so many of us have been taught to think there is no significance unless they are with someone, or so lonely that they can't bear it, or so deprived of true friendship that they break emotionally, this list can go on and on. All these thoughts can be misleading, so we declare that you are significant, even when you are alone. We as singles, can make a huge difference while in this season of oneness. And to simplify, you are not alone and so many of us stand with you.
So today, I'm trying to bring a community of great people who are living single in faith to rally together to share our thoughts, wisdom, and knowledge for so many others who are like us. So for just one more day they can know that they have significance and a God-given purpose not to be wasted. We do not need special assessments to tell us we are single and need some special things or someone to make us feel complete. We are complete through our faith in God and love for one another. Its simple, through our faith and love for one another, we find ourselves and purpose for living. And fortunately, some of us, even end up finding another significant individual to spend the rest of their lives with.
I challenge you to think....
This is your voice, your moment in time, and your life that deserves a voice in our world that has either been hidden or manipulated in some kind of way. We have so much to share with our lives and can change the world we live in. Declare with me, in this season, our voice and our message:
